Our Biggest News

The Quilters Shack has won the dealership for Pfaff in Bundaberg. This is fantastic news, we think. We havn't received stock as yet but that will be happening very soon. We are yet to have training etc but I am sure that will also be happening in the very near future as well.

Every Day Tote

This bag was made by Debbie using our new Batik fabrics. She has simply called it 'Every Day Tote'. It is so hard trying to think up names for things. The blue one has Fast-2-Fuse in it and Debbie says that she had so much trouble stitching the gusset in that she decided to make a second one using medium weight iron on pellon. She says it was so easy to stitch and would recommend not using the Fast-2-Fuse. The pattern is available in our store and you can order it by emailing us at girls@thequiltersshack.com.We still have to find the time to get our website up-to-date - and who knows when that will be.

Popcorn the Bear

Here is Popcorn the Bear. I made this simply to have in the shop to show the fabrics. For some, it is difficult to imagine what the fabrics would look like made up into a quilt so we at The Quilters Shack try to get something made up for those who struggle with this. For this little quilt, it is probably a good cot size, I simply cut up the panel, added sashings and borders. The cornerstones are part of the panel and there are still a few of them as well as four of the larger ones left that you could easily make a pillow out of. Somehow (it was quite easy really) I got all the little heart cornerstones in the top half of the quilt - it really wasn't meant to be like that but I am not doing any 'reverse sewing' to fix it.

We have been very busy in the shop over the last few weeks, this is a good thing but we don't seem to have time to get updates to the website done. If you can't find something on our site please send us an e-mail (girls@thequiltersshack.com) or phone (07 41544486) and we will do our utmost to help you.

Welcome

Welcome to The Quilters Shack blog. Firstly I would like to let you know how to find our shop when you are visiting Bundaberg in sunny Queensland. The shop is in the main street (Bourbong St) and we have Cash Converters on one side and Sweet Moments on the other side of us and are directly opposite the ANZ bank.

We have a very large range of patterns and our fabric range is forever growing. Presently we would have in excess of 2,000 bolts.

Our staff are very friendly and helpful with all things pertaining to patchwork and quilting. If we don't have an answer to your question we will do our utmost to find out for you.

Allow me introduce you to each of us - firstly we have Sue-Ellen who is the 'chief'. Sue is a lovely lady and she truly loves her shop. She also loves to embroider and patchwork. Next we have Debbie who is 'sub-chief' - our Manager. Debbie is also a lovely lady and has many talents. She is a brilliant bear maker and has a range of her own patterns. She also does beautiful embroidery and patchwork. Now we come to the 'indians', not sure what order I should put these, wouldn't want to offend anyone. We have Jenenne who does embroidery and patchwork, Kylie who just loves playing with paper hexagons etc., (English paper piecing) and she also does machine patchwork. Annette (who is the newest in our shop) does embroidery and patchwork. Jenny (that's me) does embroidery and patchwork as well. I also play around on the computer. Between us all we believe we have loads of talent when it comes to patchwork and quilting.

Next time you are visiting Bundaberg, or if you are a local patchworker and just happen to be out and about, please come and visit us.
